My Multiple Intelligence Strengths and Weaknesses
I’ve taken multiple intelligence test a few different times and every time I take them I get the same strengths and weaknesses. My multiple intelligence strengths are Intrapersonal and Interpersonal with Interpersonal always being the highest scoring. Interpersonal means I am people smart and Intrapersonal I am as the site says “myself smart.” I learned this to mean that I learn better on my own and that I know myself well enough to know how I like to learn and in what type of setting. My multiple intelligence weakness is musical, I am not music smart. I enjoy listening to music but I cannot recognize tones, instruments or specific sounds. My teaching would be affected by my Interpersonal learning style because I would want to see a lot of team games in my classroom. Also I would want to share information with my class, peers, and colleagues. I may also be more in tuned to my student’s, whether or not they are having a hard time with the content or are frustrated. My weakness might affect how much I teach using music in my classroom. Within my class students are going to having a range of multiple intelligence's, it will be my goal and job to teach to their different intelligence. For example if my students are music smart I should incorporate more strategies using music. If my students learn through kin aesthetics or body smart I teach using games and activities where the students need to move their body and be hands on.
Dale’s Cone of Experience
This website was dry and there wasn’t a lot of information on the page. The website wasn’t useful or very informative. The Cone of Experience itself is interesting. The experiences we have and their benefits and as the cone becomes larger the experiences become bigger and more concrete.
Visual Bloom
The visual Blooms cite was quite interesting. Seeing the different tools and applications as fluid moving tools is an interesting idea. This is a great way to think of the different domains and which tools apply to them. This was more interesting than the traditional Blooms taxonomy I've used many times. I like that this gives examples of what tools can be used for which domains. A web tool blooms is useful with all the technology that is and can be integrated into the classroom.
UDL
I liked this website. The information was simple and to the point. The layout of the cite was easy to follow . UDL is a set of principles for curriculum development that is an equal opportunity for individuals to learn.
Social learning Theory
The theory I chose was the Social learning Theory by Bandura. Banduras theory says we learn from observing and modeling what we see. We will model attitudes and emotional reactions not just behaviors. For example if we watch a video where someone is wearing new name brand shoes and we see that they are popular, and well liked because of their shoes we will model the video, and go by the shoes so that we will be popular and liked. There are four components to learning through behavior and these components are attention, retention, motivation, and motor reproduction. We learn what we observe through these four components. When observing a behavior it needs to catch our attention for which ever reason. This behavior needs to keep our attention and we retain it and put it to memory. Something about the behavior needs to motivate us to retain and reproduce the behaviors, to reproduce the behavior we need motor reproduction meaning having the physical capabilities to reproduce the behavior. http://home.sprynet.com/~gkearsley/tip/bandura.html
